Who runs this site
Farm Field Companion is a product of Bug & Bean LLC. Questions about anything on this page go to hello@farmfieldcompanion.com.
What is stored
- Your account: your name, your email address and your password, which is kept only as a one-way hash. A session record keeps you signed in on each browser you use.
- Your farms: each farm’s name, its outline, its latitude and longitude, and the direction of its main edge. The location is used to place the sun; nothing else is looked up from it.
- Your plans: the beds, crops, dates, irrigation, soil records and seed lists you make in the planner, saved to the server as you work.
- Billing: the Stripe customer id and the state of your subscription (monthly or yearly, active, past due or ended, and when it renews). Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach this site.
- Invites: the email address and role of each person you invite to a farm, until they join or the invite is canceled.
- Messages: email you send us, kept in our mailbox, and anything sent through the contact form this site used to have.
Who can see it
A farm is private. Only its owners and the people they invite can open it, and only owners see the email addresses of the people on it. The small team at Bug & Bean LLC can open every farm, to help when something goes wrong. Nothing about your farms appears on the public pages of this site.
The site runs on Vercel and keeps its data in a Postgres database. Payments are taken by Stripe, which receives your name, email and card to charge the subscription and is the payment processor for it. When email is set up, messages such as a password reset are sent through Resend. These providers handle the data only to run the service.
Hearing from us
The team sees who signs up, and may email you about Farm Field Companion: to ask how it is going, or to help you get started. If you would rather not be contacted, say so in a reply or write to hello@farmfieldcompanion.com, and we will not write again except about your account or payments.
What we do not do
No advertising, no tracking pixels, and no cookies beyond the one that keeps you signed in. The public pages (home, pricing, sign in and the like) count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and keeps no personal profile: it records the page, the referring site, the country and the kind of device. Your farms, the planner, your account and the team pages are never counted. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone for marketing.
Deletion
You can delete your account yourself, from your account page. It deletes your sign-in and the farms only you are on, and ends your subscription; it first offers each farm you own as a file to keep. A farm that other people are on needs another owner, or deleting, first. An owner can also delete a single farm from its settings.
To have a message deleted, or to ask what we hold about you, write to hello@farmfieldcompanion.com.
The terms of the service are on the Terms page.
